Ceramic valves for severe service

Our products

KOWOV designs and manufactures ceramic valves for severe service, bringing ceramic-materials expertise and valve engineering together in Yantai, China. Our ball, rotary and slide valves address wear, corrosion and solids handling across chemical processing, energy, metallurgy and mining. Application review, assembly and testing match each product to its duty, backed by an ISO 9001-certified quality system and technical support

Ceramic ball valve

A ceramic ball and matched seats protect the sealing surfaces against wear and corrosion. FCCV1 serves abrasive and corrosive media in both isolation and flow-control duties

Solutions

Every valve starts with the process it needs to control. We match ceramic materials, flow paths and actuation to the medium, pressure drop and operating cycle, then carry those requirements through manufacturing, delivery and support in use

Ceramic valve installed in a coal-gasification process line

Coal gasification

Coal feeding, black-water letdown and slurry circulation expose valves to abrasive particles, pressure changes and repeated cycling. We review each position separately, matching the ceramic flow path, sealing surfaces and actuator to its task. Powder feeding needs reliable passage and restart; liquid regulation needs controlled pressure reduction without concentrating erosion on the sealing surfaces

Valve and actuator installation in a polysilicon-reduction process

Polysilicon

Polysilicon production combines purity requirements with corrosive chemistry and silicon fines. Clean-gas isolation and powder discharge need different valve configurations, so we start with the surfaces allowed to contact the process. Ceramic material, leakage limits and purge arrangements are reviewed together, with cleanliness and operating conditions carried into the agreed specification

Valve installation in a metallurgical process line

Metallurgy

Gas treatment and wet cleaning expose valves to dust, abrasive slurry and deposits that can wear the sealing surfaces or restrict movement. We assess particle size, solids loading and pressure drop before selecting the passage and ceramic material. Isolation and flow control are reviewed separately, including how the line is flushed, stopped and restarted

FCCV3 ceramic ball valve for review in particle-free corrosive liquid service

Particle-free corrosive liquids

For strongly corrosive liquids without particles, FCCV3 combines a ceramic ball with a fluoropolymer-lined body. Selection begins with the chemical composition, concentration and temperature, followed by the pressure and sealing requirements. Its lining and seat must suit the actual medium; a stream containing solids needs a different material and valve review

Our story

Founded in 1998, our company brings ceramic materials, valve engineering and manufacturing together in Yantai. Under the KOWOV brand, that work serves process industries where abrasion, corrosion and demanding duty cycles call for carefully matched materials and valve designs

The KOWOV brand

KOWOV is our brand for ceramic valves and severe-service flow control, backed by Yantai KingWay Science & Technology Co., Ltd. KW comes from KingWay and V from valve; the two O’s express progress and reliability. That idea connects the work behind our products, from materials research and valve design to manufacturing and lasting technical support

From ceramic to valve

Materials expertise and valve manufacturing work together in our Yantai operation. Ceramic processing, precision machining and assembly turn the selected material into a working flow path, with sealing surfaces and component fits developed around the duty. Design and manufacturing teams work through these details together, keeping process conditions connected to the finished valve

Quality at each stage

Our ISO 9001-certified quality management system guides checks from individual components through final assembly. Dimensional inspection, pressure and sealing tests connect the finished valve to its agreed requirements, while manufacturing qualifications and product standards provide the documented basis for reviewing what each configuration can support

Frequently asked questions

How do ceramic valves compare with metal valves?

Ceramic valves use hard ceramic components at critical sealing and flow-contact surfaces to resist wear and corrosion. Metal valves may be more suitable for strong mechanical impact or rapid temperature changes. The choice depends on your medium, operating conditions and current failure pattern, not on material hardness alone

More about ceramic valves
When should I consider a ceramic valve?

If your valves wear out, lose sealing performance or need frequent replacement, start by identifying the cause. Abrasive slurry, corrosive liquids and solids handling are common reasons to consider ceramics. Particle size, chemical compatibility, pressure drop and temperature changes determine which material and valve design can suit the application

Find your application
Can a ceramic valve replace my existing valve?

A replacement needs to match more than the pipe size. We review the connection standard, installation length, pressure rating, flow requirements and actuator, together with the process conditions. Your existing valve drawing or data sheet helps us check the fit and identify any changes needed before a configuration is agreed

Discuss a replacement
What do you need to help select a valve?

Tell us what flows through the valve and what it needs to do: shut off the flow or regulate it. Include temperature, inlet and outlet pressures, flow range, any solids, valve size and how often it operates. If a current valve is causing problems, describe what happens and share the information you already have

Discuss valve selection
How can I get product information or a quotation?

Find catalogues, data sheets and drawings in Download. For a quotation, contact us with the model or application, quantity and delivery destination. You do not need to have selected a model: describe the problem you need to solve, and our team can review the options with you before agreeing specifications and commercial terms

Request a quotation
How do I get installation or after-sales support?

Use Contact Us and select After-sales service. Include the model, product or order number, operating conditions and a description of the issue. Nameplate details and site photos help us trace the original configuration and review installation questions, performance changes or replacement parts. Tell us if the process has changed since the valve was supplied
